Architectural Harmony

The Lumi Shala is enveloped by earthen walls, providing both support for yoga practices and a comforting enclosure. Bamboo arches rise from mounded foundations, symbolizing balance and reflecting the human form. These arches, along with five grid shell roof petals, allow gradients of natural light to filter into the interior, creating an ambiance conducive to yoga practice while maintaining a connection with nature.

Innovative Design

Drawing inspiration from the Arc at Green School, the Lumi Shala incorporates groundbreaking details and structural gymnastics to achieve clear spans of 21 meters. Prescriptively curved bamboo arches, meticulously crafted and tied together with structural anticlastic grid shells, form the architectural backbone of the space. Deep trusses between overlapping roof surfaces create an illusion of airy lightness, enhancing the sense of openness and tranquility within.
