Unveiling the Creative Process

The genesis of Nômade Apartment traces back to 2019, unfolding through twists and turns until its completion in 2022. Commissioned by a psychologist, artist, and dancer, the project aimed to integrate a dance studio into the apartment, formed by merging two adjacent units. The result? A symmetrical layout with a distinctively unconventional design.

Embracing Nomadism

The moniker “Nômade” aptly encapsulates the ethos of the space: a haven for movement, creativity, and perpetual transformation. With furniture on wheels and fluid spatial configurations, Nômade eschews fixed conventions, inviting change and adaptation as integral components of its identity.

Redefining Spaces

Upon entering Nômade, visitors are greeted by a spacious hall, formerly a service entrance, now reimagined with closets, a toilet, and an airy ambiance. The living room seamlessly integrates with the kitchen and a balcony-cum-garden, fostering an expansive and breathable environment. Sliding doors delineate flexible rooms along the corridor, alternating between bedrooms, workspaces, and guest accommodations.

Envisioning the Dance Room

The dance area, accessed through a foyer, beckons with a pantry and a bathroom. Here, a 2.70×4.60m expanse awaits, adorned with wooden flooring, mirrored walls, and a ballet bar—an ode to artistic expression. The erstwhile balcony transforms into an internal garden, enveloping the room in tranquility, while heavy curtains offer respite from the rhythmic beats.

Crafting Harmony

Every inch of Nômade bears the imprint of meticulous craftsmanship. From the ipê wood planks that grace the floors to the reproduction of cherished hydraulic tiles in the access hall, each element speaks to a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation.
