KYOYA Office Redefining Workspace Elegance

KYOYA Office Redefining Workspace Elegance

Introduction

The KYOYA Office, designed by SAKUMAESHIMA, stands as a testament to sophisticated interior design in the heart of Shibuya City, Japan. This project involves the relocation of KYOYA Corporation’s office, a renowned company offering promotion, interior design, and display services since 1928. Situated near JR Harajuku Station, the building, originally a vocational school, has been transformed into a modern workspace, showroom, and rental space.

Innovative Design Approach

With entrances on both the basement and first floors, the building boasts strategic positioning to accommodate various functions. Despite facing challenges with natural light, particularly in the basement, curtain rails were installed to partition the space, creating a versatile environment. The predominant silver color scheme fosters a dynamic yet lightweight ambiance throughout the office.

Tailored Office Spaces

The second and third floors house the office functions, each meticulously designed to meet departmental needs. Large tables, crafted from linden plywood, are strategically placed to optimize workspace layout and functionality. Additionally, existing locker systems are seamlessly integrated into the fixtures, maintaining a cohesive design language.

Enhanced First-Floor Features

On the first floor, a sliding glass door replaces the previous wooden deck entrance, welcoming abundant natural light into the space. A centrally located conference room, separated by a glass partition, facilitates both privacy and openness. The rear area, adaptable for various purposes, can be transformed into additional workspace, meeting rooms, or storage areas as needed.

Conclusion

The KYOYA Office project redefines workspace elegance through thoughtful design interventions and meticulous attention to detail. By repurposing an existing building into a modern office environment, SAKUMAESHIMA has created a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetics. This transformation not only reflects the evolution of KYOYA Corporation but also sets a new standard for contemporary office design in Shibuya City.
